‘G4 Physiotherapy & Fitness’ was introduced to Didsbury (Manchester) in 2011 and was founded by Glyn Forshaw (MCSP, HCPC). In 2024, the company expanded and launched a new clinic in Wilmslow (Cheshire). We offer a wide range of services including Physiotherapy, Shockwave Therapy, Acupuncture, Sports Rehabilitation, Sports Therapy, Sports Massage, Podiatry, Personal Training, Pilates, Strength & Conditioning. We also host small-grouped fitness classes within our own private gym studios including Strength, Circuit Training, Yoga and Physio-Rehab led Pilates. We kindly welcome clients from all over Manchester and Cheshire to provide an efficient and effective healthcare and fitness service. We have our very own private car parking areas, disabled access and full showering facilities. We base our service and standards upon results and we focus on the most effective intervention to maximise outcome and enhance performance to allow excellent client satisfaction.

G4 Physiotherapy Team (& Acupuncture / Dry Needling)
The G4 Physiotherapy service is led by Glyn Forshaw who graduated as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2002 at the University of Huddersfield. Through working for a number of professional sports clubs and clinical practices across the UK, he developed into a very reputable, efficient and effective practitioner with his sole focus being on each individual client and their specific needs. He has a vast amount of experience within the Ministry Of Defence and has been fortunate to be involved as a physiotherapist (and physical training instructor) for the Royal Marines during various training exercises and military operations around the globe.
Glyn & his team take a real interest and show great passion and enthusiasm to all clients during the treatment and rehabilitation process.
The G4 Physiotherapy team consists of both male and female experienced chartered Physiotherapists, who provide accurate, thorough and extensive clinical assessments,diagnosis and treatment sessions to enable a complete and full recovery from injury as well as establishing the root cause in order to prevent future reoccurrences. Our physiotherapists use a number of treatment techniques, including soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation and manipulation, electrotherapy, medical acupuncture (dry needling) and exercise therapy.

In 2007, Glyn was awarded “Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant’s Certificate” for the county of Greater Manchester and the North West of England. This was awarded for the grateful recognition of the outstanding service and devotion to duty of which Glyn provided around the globe serving Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
G4 Sport Rehabilitation & Sports Therapy Team (& Acupuncture/Dry Needling)
The G4 Sports Rehabilitation & Therapy team consists of registered BASRaT Sport Rehabilitators and Therapists who use our clinic rooms and gym to treat patients suffering from both acute and chronic sporting injuries or any other injuries involving the musculoskeletal system including neck and low back pain.
Initially, a physical assessment will be carried out in order to accurately diagnose and identify potential causes leading to injury. A tailored plan will be implemented using a range of ‘hands-on’ treatments such as massage, sports taping (e.g. kinesiology tape), manual therapy, medical acupuncture and ultimately exercise rehabilitation. Each regime will be tailored to the individual in order to allow a full functional return to their specific sport or activity. Out staff here at G4 additionally work across a wide variety of sports disciplines, including Bowdon Ladies Hockey, Altrincham Kersal RFC, Wigan St Patricks ARLFC, Warrington Wolves, British Cycling Para-Cycling team and Chester Boughton Hall Cricket Club.

G4 Massage Therapy Team
The G4 Massage Therapy team consists of experienced sports & massage therapists who specialise in Deep-Tissue & Sports Massage, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, Swedish Body Massage, Cupping and Aromatherapy. Each therapist within our professional massage team has obtained a BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy/Rehabilitation Degree or Massage qualification (such as Diploma) to provide a quality service to aid Sport Rehabilitation, enhance recovery and maximise performance. Our therapists utilise a variety of techniques in order to ease and alleviate pain, promote recovery, improve muscle tone and aid injury prevention. Additionally, some of our team may include techniques such as medical acupuncture (dry needling) or cupping therapy in order to compliment other ‘hands-on’ techniques. Each session will include a short consultation to discuss your needs or goals and will conclude with advice regarding maintenance and future care as required.

G4 Personal Training & Fitness Team
The G4 Personal Training & Fitness Team consist of experienced fitness instructors, personal trainers and physical training instructors from various rehabilitation, sports and military backgrounds. The team focus on all areas of fitness including weight loss, aerobic & anaerobic fitness, strength building, cardio-vascular (CV) training and other fitness programmes for beginners through to the elite level of a professional athlete. Our fitness team deliver fun and intense fitness sessions for both individual and small group sessions modified to all levels of fitness to suit all capabilities within a class.
The effects of our fitness sessions assist with all levels of weights loss, strength building and cardiovascular health gains. Successful results are evident at all levels including those who have rarely used a gym previusly nor attempted any form of fitness. Sports athletes have taken the step up and excelled to elite levels and soldiers have been trained up to the high demanding level of battlefield fitness through our intensive training programmes led by our team and associates.
Our team also provide a health screening and body assessment service for sports specific individuals and the general population. Fitness testing may also take place for general health reasons and to monitor exercise progression for all levels of fitness.
G4 Yoga & Pilates Team
Our clinical instructors teach various styles of Yoga and Matwork Pilates with small equipment for a range of abilities and ages within our very own gym. Sessions are conducted either on a 1:1 basis or within a small group to maximise guidance, technique and performance. Our yoga instructors can help clients improve flexibility and mobility throughout the body, improve strength in the limbs and core, and focus on relaxation and effective breathing techniques. The aims of our Pilates sessions focus on core strength and spinal mobility and are used to improve and prevent many musculoskeletal aches and pains, most commonly lower back and neck pain. All of our Pilates instructors are either Chartered Physiotherapists or Sports Rehabilitators and therefore each session is either Physio-led or Sports Rehab-led. Such knowledge and skill will allow clients to have the most effective tailored classes with adequate bespoke exercise modifications to successfully achieve positive outcomes.
All of our fitness classes take place within our onsite gym, and accommodate a maximum number of 6 patients in each class. This allows the instructing team to really focus on adjusting technique and providing necessary progressions to allow clients to gain the most benefit from each class.
G4 Sports Podiatry
The G4 Sports Podiatry service is led by Paul Johnson who has been working in the field of Sports Podiatry for over 20 years. As well as working in private practice, Paul has worked in the NHS as an Extended Scope Lower Limb Musculoskeletal Podiatrist. This has allowed Paul and his team to keep up to date with the latest evidence-based practice research and the most effective management of treating clients who are referred for Podiatry.
The G4 team have extensive experience in treating all manner of lower limb pathologies by altering the underlying negative biomechanics which contribute to injury. Emphasis is based on detailed subjective history taking and examination of clients in an attempt to establish a link between injury and any biomechanical issues found. Treatment provided may be in the form of target specific stretching & strengthening exercises, orthotics (insoles) and sports footwear advice.
The G4 team have been heavily involved in managing injury problems with both amateur & professional athletes from most disciplines including Professional Footballers, Cricketers, Rugby players, Olympic & Commonwealth athletes and British Tri-athletes to name but a few.
Our Podiatry (General/Routine), Chiropody and Foot Health team assist with many foot issues from mild symptoms to severe problems which can lead to discomfort and wound concerns. Our team provide a service whereby they can help the symptoms and control the management of many problems allowing a more aesthetic appearance and less painful feet to ultimately improve foot-health, well-being and gait.
