This Sunday will see Salford Quays host its popular 10k road race. There were 3,500 entrants last year so there is sure to be a great deal of support from family and friends, cheering the runners on from the pavements. There is also added motivation in the form of loud music played around the route. The race starts at 10.15am so there’s a free lie in as an added bonus!
Also being held this Sunday is the Ride of the Roses sportive in Southport. There are three cycle routes to choose from; 50, 75 or 100 miles. Each route winds along country roads in the Lancashire countryside. The 75 mile and 100 mile routes will include some cycling through and around the Trough of Bowland, which is a valley and high pass in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The organisers have promised that all three routes will be challenging but scenic. Hopefully scenic enough that the riders can forget the pain of getting up those hills!
We would like to wish all those taking part good luck and hope that the autumnal weather stays fine and dry for you all. Why not treat yourselves to a post-event sports massage? Contact us to book an appointment or call 0161 445 5133.
