It’s time to get on your bike. If you don’t fancy navigating yourself, why not try a cycle sportive this weekend and get out and about to experience countryside and routes you probably otherwise wouldn’t see. As our previous blog on sportives says, it’s a great way of doing a long ride without having to think about your route and with like minded people.
The RideIt Peak District Sportive takes place this Sunday, which is one of the hardest rides in the series. To reflect that, the organisers have cut down the distances from previous years. However, the challenge is worth it as the views are spectacular around the Peak District National Park. Included in the ride are well-known climbs up to Oldgate Nick, Bunsal Cob, Mam Tor and Snakes Pass, which several of our clients will be familiar with. The route passes through Edale Valley and around Lady Bower Reservoir. So that everyone can take part – and children ride free with a paying adult – there are four distances available: fun, at 12 miles, short at 30 miles, medium at 55 miles and long at 80 miles. If it is not sold out, entries can be made on the day, so why don’t you pack your saddle bag and see for yourself?
We would like to wish all those taking part the very best of luck. Don’t forget your spare inner tubes!
