Sunday saw the roads of Manchester filled with brightly coloured reflective bibs and cycles for the seventh year running. Nearly ten thousand cyclists of all ages gleefully saddled up and took to the city streets, taking over the roads which were closed to traffic for most of the day. The 12 kilometre route started at the velodrome at the national cycling centre, with the ride being started by track cyclist Matt Crampton. It then passed through the Etihad campus and then wound its way to Chinatown in the centre of Manchester city. There was a festival atmosphere and lots of entertainment for those on two feet rather than two wheels.
