MDS 2 MDS

This weekend sees the 28th year of pure grit, determination, physical and mental strength-endurance at ‘The Marathon Des Sables’ (MdS). The race has been rated by many as one of the ‘toughest footraces on this planet’.

The race takes place across the Sahara Desert in the most arduous warm climates known to athletes. Apart from water and the tents in the evening, the athletes are to carry their own kit for the week to survive and to continue to the end.

The race itself covers the equivalent of five and a half marathons in five or six days which gives a total distance of some 251km (156 miles).

This race is a fantastic achievement for anyone who finishes and G4 are glad to have supported many clients in preparation for the event. The supporting clinic services have included physiotherapy, massage, sports podiatry and intense personal training.

We look forward to receiving race reports and looking at your photographs from throughout the week.

Good luck all form all at G4…!
