Post Natal Yoga helps to target areas of the body which have been affected by birth, such as the abdominals, pelvic floor and pelvic alignment. Exercises which will specifically help in strengthening the pelvic floor and core muscles will be implented in each class, along with postures and physical movements which will assist building strength and flexibility in the body as a whole.
During pregnancy, the pelvis naturally tilts and therefore, the lower back creates more of an arch (increased lumbar lordosis) which can result in discomfort, instability and structural skeletal change. To assist in avoiding these symptoms, our instructors will incorporate the most appropriate exercises and such exercises will help in the re-alignment of the spine and pelvis so that the body will be encouraged to re-establish a posture that will support yourself in day-to-day life as you breast-feed, carry the baby and conduct other baby-related activities.
Each class will follow a flowing series of yoga poses, increasing in intensity as the body regains core stability. These specific bespoke Yoga classes are suitable for any level ability, but recommended for ladies who are 6 weeks post-partum.
