G4 Fitness Classes

Do you want to shed pounds and lose weight fast?

Didsbury’s ‘G4 Fitness’ provides all the fitness components and principles that you could possibly wish for to help achieve your own personal exercise goals and targets. Our intent is for our advanced physical training instructors to give each individual the opportunity to progress their fitness aspects specifically or to develop all-round physical fitness.  Our lead physical training instructor is also our most senior physiotherapist who has the added knowledge to ensure the risk of injury is reduced and to allow efficient training sessions to take place for those overcoming injuries.

The main effort from the fitness sessions will ensure training value is of a high standard that is progressive, measureable and conducted to a professional standard. Skill is another important part of fitness and each session will incorporate levels of agility, balance and co-ordination work to develop total fitness.

‘Knowledge is Power’, which is a phrase adapted and highlighted by our unique fitness professionals who train clients with their very own expertise backgrounds from their military, physiotherapy, sports rehabilitation and fitness careers. We train individuals in certain ways and we have specific methods in how we instruct to get the best out of every training session to maximise participation and to excel individual performance.

Our planned aims and objectives from each session will no doubt work you well, be fun and be effective to enhance your fitness level. We emphasize and stress the importance of the correct form and technique to reduce the risk of injury and to allow for fitness progression at the right level. Sessions are taken in a professional manner and are conducted with an enthusiastic and motivating ethos.

Our sessions are of either mixed ability or specific to certain fitness levels. Each client will be selected to take part in the most relevant group by the instructor to maximise the training benefit for each individual and to reduce the risk of injury. Further classes can be considered upon request and popularity.

To avoid boredom, repetition, lack of progression and constant detrimental muscle/joint strain, our sessions will focus on the four main components of fitness:

G4 Endurance

Sessions will be conducted either indoors or the local outdoors and will comprise of both continuous and interval elements to meet endurance requirements, burn fat and strengthen the heart. Constant stress will be taken away from the knees, hips and other body parts by keeping the sessions varied by our instructors. Sessions may also incorporate Circuit Training to develop endurance levels. Each session will last between 45 and 60 minutes.

G4 Speed/Power

High intensity and speed sessions involving varied short interval exercise work comprising of a combination of running, strength and explosive movements. Sessions are conducted either indoors or in the local area and will be tailored to each group’s ability and intensity capability. Sessions may also incorporate Circuit Training to develop speed and power levels. Each session will last between 45 and 60 minutes.

G4 Strength

Strength sessions conducted within our fitness gym at G4 and also in the local area by our physical training instructors. Sessions will either target the whole body or they may focus on specific parts of the body to enhance levels of strength.  Different types of strength work will aim to improve strength as a whole and avoid muscular boredom. Resistance will vary between bodyweight, free weights and other resistive apparatus (e.g. tyres/logs/containers/battle ropes). Sessions may also incorporate Circuit Training to develop strength levels. Each session will last between 45 and 60 minutes.

G4 Flexibility & Core Stability

Indoor gym sessions at G4 to enhance muscular and joint range of motion to promote recovery between sessions and reduce the risk of injury. Sessions are taken by our team of physiotherapists and sports rehabilitators. Sessions will incorporate specific joint and muscular stretches to increase range of movement which will help to alleviate stiffness. Sessions may also entail core stability work to strengthen your core which will help improve your exercise technique and training performance. These sessions are also useful for people recovering from injury, those who complain of general stiffness, those suffering from tight muscles and those who require general conditioning prior to the commencement of exercise. Sessions may also incorporate abdominal work-outs. Each session will last between 45 and 60 minutes.

G4 Pilates

Indoor gym sessions at G4 lead by physiotherapists and sports rehabilitators focusing on increasing core strength, abdominal toning, alleviating back pain and to reduce the risk of injury. Overall good core strength is important to allow exercise to progress to the next level whilst minimising the risk of injury. Pilates is very much a technique based exercise and we ask each client to attend a Pilates assessment prior to the classes. Such assessments  will ensure the correct technique to allow you to gain the most benefit from the sessions. Each session will last between 45 and 60 minutes.

G4 Fitness Assessments, Health Check & Body Composition Measurements

To the benefit of the client and instructors, regular fitness assessments are conducted to gain an insight of each client’s capability and fitness level. The fitness tests will comprise of endurance, speed and strength aspects and a scoring system will take place to denote which level the client should fit into. Fitness and health assessments are optional and can be conducted before you start the training sessions or shortly after you begin your training. Regular fitness and health assessments will then be encouraged and conducted to monitor each client’s capability and to progress their level of fitness and training to a more advanced group as able.
