Races from the Weekend: 25 and 26 July 2015: Elephants and More

On Saturday, Heaton Park saw a great many Enormous Elephants running 5 k and 10 k races to raise money for the charity The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, an African Wildlife charity. These popular races are now held nationwide. Elephant suits were, in fact, enormous and presumably, no speed records were broken. However speed was sacrificed for a fantastic spectacle and of course lots of money raised for charity. And always having the perfect fancy dress outfit in your wardrobe from then on.

The Deva Divas sprint distance triathlon took place in Chester on Sunday. The annual event is a popular one, winning British Triathlon”Event of the Year” award in 2009, and North West Race of the Year in 2014. It is a fun, inclusive race, organised by those who are determined to see more ladies take up triathlon and take part in achievable, shorter distance events. Even though the weather was slightly overcast, the ladies were cheered on by great crowds of family and friends at Chester Meadows.

We would like to congratulate all who took part in these events. If you have aching limbs or backs from taking part in any events at the weekend or simply from training hard, why not book a restorative sports massage.
